Happy Purim!

Hey there 😁 It seems like I’ve learned about a lot of different religious holidays and practices through baked goods and tea recently. Today’s inspiring treat is a traditional Jewish cookie called, Hamantaschen.

Hamantaschen is a triangular cookie filled with either strawberry, raspberry, poppy seed or other fillings. My raspberry one tasted delicious with Raspberry Rooibos tea. It’s a cookie Jewish individuals love eating when they celebrate Purim. This celebration is found in the book of Esther in the Bible when Mordecai and Esther saved the Jewish people from Haman’s plan of killing all the Jews in Persia. Yay! Go Esther and Mordecai! Time to party!

What’s a party without flour flung everywhere? 😂

Have a great Purim and enjoy some delicious Hamantaschen!

  1. Dear sister in law,
I can honestly say that I have made Hamantaschen before. I used to work for many Jewish families and it was a fun activity with the kids. We used various ingredients to fill it… chocolate, sprinkle… things kids like.
