Welcome to Countdown to Christmas 2023! It’s my sixth year doing a tea based countdown! In 2018 I showcased my teacups with a different tea each day. 2019 I tried some of my friend’s and family’s favorite teas. 2020 I shared some of my favorite desserts to go with teas. In 2021, I created 25 days of a Christmas party through tea mixed with alcohol. Finally, last year [2022] I explored teas from around the world! This year, I want to explore Sicily for my tea countdown to Christmas.
In June, 14 family members and I traveled to the Eastern part of the Sicilian Island. Through this countdown, I want to share our experiences with you. I hope you enjoy our adventure.
Each day, I’ll also be participating in Fortnum and Mason’s 2023 Advent Calender. Which allows me to taste 24 different teas their company blends.
Now the question for these advent calendars is, do you start at 24 and go backward to 1? Or is it the other way?
Historically, you start at 1 and count up to Christmas. So the first one in my box is Royal Blend from Fortnum and Mason. I’m so happy to start with Royal Blend since this flavor of tea was the first one I tried in London and made me love Fortnum and Mason’s teas. It’s a mix of Flowery Pekoe from Sri Lanka with Assam black tea. Yum yum. This is going to be a great Countdown (and count up) to Christmas!
