At Gole Alcantara, there are a couple of ways to get around. For our large party of 15, some of us walked, and some enjoyed a shuttle ride. I will admit our little bambino jumped on the shuttle with Nonna near the end since he was tired.

With the shuttle tour was a guide who spoke about different sections of the gorge while seeing the views from above. He was kind enough to speak to the whole family (not just those in the shuttle) at the stops we were at together.

The views were beautiful, and the lava rock formations left me in awe.

You are allowed to take the lift (or elevator) down to the river to swim. We didn’t know that was an option in advance, so we took our shoes off and rolled our pants up.

The main river moved a bit fast for my comfort level. Thankfully, there was a side stream that I was happy to let our bambino play in.

The rock formations seen from the river were truly amazing. I was constantly questioning how exactly they were made. Mother Nature is awesome!

The water was refreshing and we didn’t want to go but we had to head towards our next adventure in Taormina.

…. one last cat photo before I move on….
Today’s Fortnum and Mason blend is called Ginger and Sicilian Lemon Infusion. How fitting!

This herbal tea has ginger, lemon peel, lemongrass, lemon myrtle, cinnamon, tumeric and Sicilian lemon flavoring. Good for when you’re sick for sure.
Have a great Monday!
