Walking into Fiumedinisi had a wonderful small town atmosphere. Granted, I don’t know the Sicilian dialect or Italian, so navigating anything that required talking, I have to give a huge “thank you!” to my mother in law and her sisters.

Fiumedinisi is the type of small town where everyone knows everyone. Which means our group of 15 was noticed. Older gentlemen could be seen talking in the town square (probably about us) and kids we’re playing nearby.

As we walked through the streets, the local produce vendor drove through announcing that days fresh fruits and vegetables. He would stop for buyers and then continue on throughout the town yelling out the delicious foods locals could buy that day.

We also came on market day where a few vendors sold cleaning supplies, kitchen material, shoes, and other items.

Near the market was where we met family and, being a small town, were surprised to run into more family.

To continue to enjoy the family reunion, we went to Bar Pasticceria Gugliotta.

There were so many good looking options there, but we had to get our first round of the Sicilian favorite; lemon granita.

The bambino got a strawberry one with whipped cream on top. His mustache was on point!

Today’s Fortnum and Mason tea is Elderflower, Strawberry and Rose Infusion. This herbal tea starts out beautiful but ends with the elderflower after taste. One I could drink but may not go out to buy. I’m still having fun trying out all these Fortnum and Mason teas!

Have a wonderful Friday and 17 days until Christmas! We’re going to go watch Rudolph the Rednose Reindeer for the tenth time with the kiddo this year 😊

I don’t comment everyday but I am really enjoying your commentary on your trip and love seeing the pictures. Thank you.
