Ali Terme- Il Piccadilly: 14 Days to Christmas 2023

At home I generally eat dinner between 5:30 and 7pm. In Sicily…. not possible. Everywhere that is not a large tourist destination shuts down mid- day for their siesta. This means that restaurants do not open for dinner until after 8pm. With such a large group, even if we got there right at 8, we were not eating until after 9:30pm.

One special night we went to a seafood restaurant as a family. With a 3 year old still drinking milk heavily, we had a hard time finding it in Sicily. Thankfully, our bed and breakfast provided milk each morning, but during the day, it was almost non-existent. Il Piccadilly was the only restaurant we went to that provided milk. It was warm, but it was milk and the bambino thoroughly enjoyed it.

Seafood appetizer

Sicilian speaking family had to translate the menu since it was not, and people did not speak English. Appetizers were brought out to share. There was an arancini, squid or octopus, tuna, and fish catch of the day.

For my immediate family’s meal, we had a delicious shrimp pasta and swordfish.

Everything tasted so good, but it was a tiring day, and we were ready to go to bed.

Bringing in the work week and 14 days until Christmas is Fortnum and Mason’s Moroccan Mint green tea. This is made with gunpowder green tea, peppermint, and spearmint. I’ve enjoyed this refreshing tea warm since we had some in Morocco in 2019. It could be enjoyed cold as well. Have a great day!

Erica, I having been loving your post recapping Sicily. I totally forgot about the seafood restaurants. I had a lovely tea yesterday that you gifted me. It was perfect for the rainy wet day. Jessi
