In preparation for our large family trip to Sicily, I did a lot of research on all the places we planned to go. This included what to do in each location and, most importantly, a few options to park.

By knowing parking addresses, we put them into the GPS and went straight to the parking locations. This made driving so much easier while we were in Sicily. It also taught us where we can and cannot drive. In the case of Cefalu, we could not drive into the historic district… as the policeman indicated when I accidently drove into it…

Unfortunately, Cefalu was over 2 hours from where we stayed, we went to Santo Stefano before we arrived, and we spent time on the beach; lending no time to walk through the historic city viewable from the beach.

I was pretty bummed I couldn’t look at the different pottery colors used in Cefalu versus Santo Stefano. I would have enjoyed walking the old city, having wine at an osterias, visiting Duomo, and going to a gelateria after hiking up La Rocco, which leads to a Norman castle and oversees the city and beach.

We didn’t have the time, but I would have loved an extra day in Cefalu to explore the historic city.

On 6 days until Christmas I very much enjoyed Fortnum and Mason’s Gin & Tonic Flavour green tea. This is a green tea that has a beautiful juniper berry flavor with a bit of Gin and Tonic flavoring added. Even tastes great cold. Have a happy day!
