Fiumedinisi- Rusti e Mancia Cannetti: 1 Day to Christmas 2023

Happy Christmas Eve Everyone! Today’s post is about food!

On our last day in Sicily, we took one last trip to the family’s heritage village of Fuimedinisi. In particular, we overlooked the river the family used to play in while eating at Rusti e Mancia Cannetti.

Ya’ll. This was the traditional Sicilian meal I was hoping for! Complete with red table wine!

There was a plate of bread dipped in olive oil and spices. Followed by an antipasta meat, cheese, and olive plate. To be washed down with meatballs and fried mozzarella balls. Oh. My. Geeerd.

The owner showed us how they hand make the pasta daily and provided an amazing meat pasta with sugo for all to share.

Did you say meat? Oh yeah! There was tender, delicious, mouth-watering meat.

To put on the finishing touches of this 3 hour meal, we had a pizzelle dessert as well. We even made it on the restaurants Facebook page. Mmmm mmmm good 😊

It’s day 24 of my Fortnum and Mason tea advent calendar. For all advent calendars I must say it’s disappointing they don’t make a bonus “Christmas” spot to open on Christmas day.

Anywho, I drank the Christmas black tea with Cocoa nibs, cloves, safflower, and orange, ginger, clementine and chocolate flavoring. It’s okay but could use some more spices for a Christmas tea.
