Butterflies & Wishes Tea & Sweets Revisited

A few years ago, I began searching for different tea rooms in Maryland and Virginia and came across Butterflies & Wishes Tea & Sweets in Chesapeake Beach, MD. I’ve visited a few times, and every time, the food and service have been amazing.

By following their Facebook page, I saw the Valentine’s menu and decided this would be a good time to revisit with my husband and son. Butterflies & Wishes have always been accommodating for my son as an infant, two year old, and now four year old.

They recently opened The Tea Nook, which is a very inviting space to order a beverage or grab a quick bakery goodie to go. Or if you’re feeling up to it, you can grab a chair or couch and enjoy a quiet moment by yourself or relax with friends.

With reservations, you can have afternoon tea in the Tea & Sweets room.

If you’re a kid, the owner seems to be in tune with your needs and brings a yummy snack while waiting for the tea service to begin.

When making our reservations, I ordered this Mommy and Me tea. Full of a peanut butter sandwich, chicken salad sandwich, and cucumber sandwich. There’s also strawberry cream cheese and vegetable bites with a few additional delicious desserts. The real conversation starter is the cinnamon apple scone. Ya’ll, I don’t think the three of us have EVER tasted a better scone. My two picky guys ate it all!

The Valentine’s tea was just as good with the menu described in the first photo above. We all enjoyed our own personal tea pots. My son finished off the Tea-Rex herbal tea (honeybush, apples, cocoa nibs, chocolate chips, cherry, raspberries). I loved the Burgundy Cherry black tea with cherry and vanilla. My husband enjoyed Chocolate Strawberry black tea with swiss chocolate and sweet strawberry.

To finish off this delightful experience was an oreo chocolate mousse cup. Not only was the mousse amazing, but it was topped with whipped cream and a French macaron… all inside an edible chocolate cup. Does anything say Valentine’s more than chocolate?!

To finish off the fun (or continue the danger as my husband would say), they sell the teas they serve. I decided to bring home a lovely sounding white tea that was blended by Dominion Tea.

All in all, we had an amazing Valentine’s Tea, and I will always suggest a visit. The food served is fresh and flavorful. The tea and selection are divine. I hope you also get to enjoy an afternoon tea at Butterflies & Wishes Tea & Sweets.
