Yes we’ve had a lot of fun this year, but we also work hard. We have a garden, and we share fruits and veggies around the family.
A nearby farm grows the most delicious strawberries I’ve ever tasted in my life. I love making strawberry jam out of them and gifting it to friends and family.
I also love blackberry jelly from our blackberry bushes. A couple of years ago, I realized how many pickles I was buying. So I began canning my own pickles of a few different flavors, too.
We try to help around the family farm when available. My son has been very helpful this year.
There were a fun few weeks when my mom put a camera by a bluebirds nest. We watched the babies grow until they flew the nest.
And for some reason. Our son began collecting beetles and storing them with his bike…? Still trying to figure that one out, but he had a summer of fun.

Today’s Republic of Tea is Good Hope Vanilla. This is an African rooibos herbal tea with vanilla beans.
The vanilla makes for a winning smell and flavor. Some of the rooibos flavor shines through but not too much.
