Fad? Shower Steamers

This past Christmas, my husband actually bought me things I didn’t know about. Generally, I show interest in something, and he says “Hey I’ll get that for you as your Christmas present,” gives it to me the moment he buys it, and I have nothing to open Christmas day. This year, I bought myself gifts, wrapped them, and knew something was waiting for me under the tree. Little did I know, the man put forth some effort this year. Bravo!

One of those gifts was assorted scents of shower steamers. I had never heard of it before, so it piqued my interest.

These little disks are considered aroma therapy. You put them in an area of your shower that slowly gets wet (do not submerge it in water), so the scent lasts longer. As the water hits it, a scent is released, and it is washed away.

I have tried 8 now, and I did enjoy them. I am happy to report that they do not make the shower slippery or alter the floor in any way. With the location I found, the disk lasted the entire time during my shower. However, the majority of the scents were overpowered by my hair products and soap scents.

If I had to choose my favorite scent, I would go with Menthol & Eucalyptus. I could smell this scent during my entire shower and would consider it helpful while suffering from any sinus related issues.

So, do I think it’s a spa fad? Maybe. But for sinus aromatherapy, I hope the Menthol & Eucalyptus option sticks around.
