Okay Ya’ll. I’ve had to get creative on my February hike goal. Between staying busy and being sick through the end of the month, I’m going to have to cheat a little and say I reached my hike goal through freezing city and beach walking.

Now you might say… that’s not a hike! However, there is such a thing as “urban hiking” where you aim to explore different areas within the city. And for us, that was exploring from our hotel to Alley Oops; about a 2.5 mile round trip hike.

I don’t have much to say about the hike itself other than it was cold, we made it, and we stopped for ice cream. But i would like to say that Alley Oops was fun! There was an arcade area with duck pin bowling for our son, restaurant space for dining, and a bar to keep the adult’s sanity.

I would also like to mention that we had a nice stay at the Carousel Hotel. We were there for a hockey tournament, and they had some fun things for the kids set up; such as a bouncy house, a small arcade, and a nice indoor pool.

So, in addition to an urban hike, we had a great weekend enjoying hockey, some fun, and relaxation.
