Lawless Forge, Sterling VA

Happy Father’s Day, ya’ll!

I took my husband on a date to forge a knife out of a Horseshoe! We had a blast!

We’ve watched almost every season of Forged in Fire and have wanted to create something on our own for years.

I finally looked for a place that offered single classes to the public and found Lawless Forge in Sterling, VA.

I contacted the forge in advance to ask if my husband and I could work on the same knife due to physical disability concerns. They were happy to accommodate us and let us pay for one spot but asked us to note that two people would be working on one knife.

The instructor was fantastic. He took the entire group step by step in creating the knife over 3 hours. There’s two difficult steps the instructor completed for everyone, but otherwise, we created a knife ya’ll!

We forged, hammered, shaped, quenched, and grinded our horseshoe into a knife.

Wallah! We created our own knife and had a wonderful adventure while sweating off 5 pounds of water weight in the heat… and we’d do it again!
