Only one week until Christmas ya’ll!

This day of our Scotland Highland Experience was one of my favorites. Let’s be serious, every day was my favorite. Just being in Scotland was the best.

I loved the mountains in Glen Coe. There was something magical about being there.

After seeing Glen Coe, we went to the Glen Coe Visitor Center, where there was a historically recreated turf house.

We had lunch in Fort William. Unfortunately, there’s only one wall of the fort still standing in the town. However, we had our favorite meal of the trip at the Garrison West restaurant.

Next up was the Glenfinnan Viaduct, but visiting the viaduct has become very busy after the Harry Potter films came out. Our bus had to pass the parking lot and let us off at a picturesque church that we wouldn’t have seen otherwise. My son particularly enjoyed ringing the church bell.

Across from the viaduct is a monument to Bonny Prince Charlie. Located on the place he landed in Scotland to begin the 1745 Jacobite uprising.

To my absolute geeky Harry Potter happiness, we saw the Glenfinnan Viaduct. My son had no idea why I was so excited. So I showed him the 3 minute clip from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets highlighting the viaduct. Traveling creates wonderful memories but also teaches us about each other.

To celebrate seeing the Glenfinnan Viaduct, I bought Gryffindor Breakfast Blend. I could have bought one of the other Hogwarts Houses, but I had to get the best! Like regular breakfast teas, this is a black tea with teas from Ceylon and Sri Lanka. It has a little bite, but with milk, it’s a solid breakfast blend.

Enjoy your Thursday and learn something new about your family.
