Taormina- Shopping: 19 Days to Christmas 2023

Taormina is well known for its boutique shops with authentic Sicilian made products; including perfumes, ceramics, jewelry, and food.

Channeling his great-Nonno

As we walked the streets, we passed many shops with a variety of goodies to buy, restaurants filled inside and out with people ready to eat and….

….this bachelor party. They were making their way to the church for the groom to get married. It was a very fun scene to witness.

As we were walking, we passed a Gelato shop. There were many different options and our bambino settled on fragola (strawberry) Gelato. He never had it before our trip to Sicily, but he loved it.

Taormina has charming alleyways. The large Sicilian pots give you an idea of the type of ceramics that can be bought nearby in a store.

Since we already had a big day at Gole Alcantara and did the historic walking tour of Taormina, there wasn’t much time for me to shop. I did manage to get these two small hand painted pieces as we were leaving.

The bambino just couldn’t make it any further and fell asleep as his uncle carried him.

Today’s Fortnum and Mason tea is Genmaicha green tea. It’s a very healthy tea and in Japan is known as the “People’s Tea”. It mixes Shizuoka green tea with roasted brown rice. I will say this is an acquired tea type taste. It’s a wee (very wee) sweet, but a toasty and roasty flavor.

Winter weekend at the beach!

Happy Wednesday and 19 days until Christmas!
