Kauai, Hawaii: Kauai Coffee Company

Alas, it is true. I cheated on tea. -sigh- Kauai just didn’t have the tea opportunity that coffee did.

Regardless, I present to you “Kauai Coffee Company”! The Kauai Coffee Estate is the largest coffee farm in the U.S. Available during your visit are free walking tours. You’ll learn all about how their coffee is grown, harvested and roasted on Kauai.

The guided walking tour, you can reserve in advance, serves freshly roasted Kauai Coffee before beginning the journey through the coffee trees. A self-guided walking tour does not require a reservation. You can read the walking tour signs at your own pace.

Inside the Kauai Coffee Visitor Center, you can enjoy a free taste test of the entire line of 100% Hawaiian, estate-grown coffees. There is a variety of flavors from fruity to dark roast and even flavored coffees. I drank their Peaberry coffee. And being the non-coffee drinker that I am, did not realize that’s their darkest roast available. Complete fail on my part. I’m sure coffee sommeliers would have enjoyed it. But my tasting palate only registered that it’s coffee and it’s quite hot.

My favorite part was looking around the museum. I mean, who doesn’t love an exhibit that gives you permission to break glass?

My travel partner wanted a full cup of coffee. I couldn’t help but laugh at the “special” for the day. That’s right folks. If you buy two coffees, make sure to pay for them both. 😉

Beautiful views, good shopping and free taste testing. Mahalo Kauai Coffee Company. You were an enjoyable stop on our vacation.
