My plans for going to a bunch of tea rooms this summer changed because of the coronavirus. BUT! I finally enjoyed tea (outdoors) with a good friend of mine and loved every minute of it!
Sweet Simplici-Tea’s reservations were made easy on their website. You fill out a form saying when you want to visit and wait for them to confirm by email or phone (for me this only took 5 minutes). Due to COVID-19 and shortened hours, they ask you to place your order and ask for special accommodations while requesting your reservation (including indoor vs. outdoor seating). They were excellent with food allergies!!
Picture this; the tea room is in a small countryside town that extends no more than 5 blocks. The traffic is light. Not many people shopping. It’s cloudy, in the upper 80s, with a light breeze.
We both ordered Victoria’s Choice tea (which gives you a little less than their Royal Tea option). This includes your choice of tea, soup or salad, three tea sandwiches, two tea desserts, a scone and fresh fruits. Since clouds and a light breeze obviously means it’s fall, my friend ordered a honeybush pumpkin tea and I got a spiced apple chai. Both were delicious!
The apple cinnamon chip scones were amazing. Just a little hard on the outside, with a soft warm center. I asked for another!
The ladies were amazing at trying to figure out what to give me allergy wise. They get beyond 5 stars with the effort they put into it.
It was a lovely set up for being outdoors on the sidewalk. The food and tea hit the spot and it was perfect for getting out safely during this virus situation.
They also have tea and baked goods for sale inside. Just an all around good visit.
